ANSWERS

1) I’ve downloaded the software, but I can’t install it.
The software is an auto-installing one; after you’ve downloaded it, you just have to double-click on the SETUPLUDOPOLI icon. For further information, please watch the installation video tutorial. If you still have troubles, contact our staff by sending an e-mail to info@ludopoli.us

2) I run the program, but I can’t connect to the server.
LUDOPOLI uses a normal internet connection, so please verify your internet connection status and reboot your computer, if needed. Also, check if your firewall or antivirus software, which can prevent the connection to LUDOPOLI, is active or not; you may need to configure them to let LUDOPOLI access the internet.

3) I’d like to play with different nicknames: is it possible to have more than one account?
NO, it’s absolutely prohibited. Every user is entitled to have one account only.

5) How can I keep my account safe?
Avoid inserting a password too short, or a password containing your personal data. Try using letters and numbers which only make sense to you. Do not give your account data to anyone, and update regularly your antivirus software.

6) Where can I find the official rules of games and tournaments?
Every game has its own space in the website; there you can find every details about rules, tournaments or events. You can access these areas by using the menu in the Home page or on the left part of the screen.

7) What happen if I disconnect while playing?
If your disconnection is due to Internet malfunction, then the software will keep any eventual match in standby for about 5 minutes, so you can restart your connection and continue playing the interrupted match. But if you leave a table (while playing) by clicking on the exit button, you will lose the match by default.

8) How can I switch from one game to another?
Every game has its own tab. You only have to click on the game's tab to show the gaming tables list.

9) How can I find a player with (or against) whom I want to play?
On the left side of the screen, the players list is shown; it's possible to send private messages to them using the chat window. As for the other games, if you click on the tables on the right side of the screen, the names of the players seated at that table will appear in the central part of the screen. You can enter as an onlooker and chat with the players, i.e. to set up a future eventual match. Moreover, on Ludopoli website, ranking tables showing the public e-mails of the players are listed, so it’s always possible to contact someone and set up a match. In chess matches, it’s possible to directly challenge another player by entering his/her nick after having issued the challenge. Obviously, the player to be challenged must be online; if not, the challenge will not be considered valid. The online players’ list, with their Elo points, is accessible from the chess table selection screen.

10) How do rankings work?
Every game has its own ranking. Poker ranking depends on the chips owned by every player; chess ranking depends on the Elo points. The other games’ rankings depend on the points received when playing a match, as shown on the ranking tables page. There are also additional stats, such as number of matches played, winning percentage and so on. You can arrange rankings by these stats by simply clicking on the first text line. You can search for your – or your friends’ – name by clicking on the appropriate button.

11) Why am I given “playmoney” chips while playing poker?
To play poker, you need some virtual money, which have absolutely no real value; they’re only valid within the game.

12) How many “playmoney” chips do I get when I start playing? What happens if I run out of “playmoney” chips?
You get 3000 chips for poker hold’em. If your virtual money reach 0, you won’t get any new chips for 24 hours; after that time, you’ll get the starting 3000 chips again.

13) The table I want to join is full. What do I do?
In poker, you have to wait for another player to run out of “playmoney” chips, or to leave the table, before entering in his place. As for the other games, you have to wait for the actual match to finish. Anyway is always possible to open a new table and start playing immediately.

14) I can’t understand how to use the game interface.

16) What can I do if someone start insulting people in chat?
Click on the link "Report chat abuse" located at the top of the chat area. The staff will review all reports and then assign the sanctions it deems appropriate. Moreover, the chat and the avatar (which you deem offensive) display can be disabled by clicking the right mouse button on the chat area.

17) I lost connection while I was seated at a table. What can I do?
Don’t worry: you just have to reconnect, restart the program and go back to your table to continue the match. Only 5 minutes after the connection dropped, will the program remove the player from the game and award the match (by default) to the opponent(s).

18) During the download or the update of Ludopoli, I experience some problems. What can I do?
Try to download and install the program using the secondary link from this page.

19) Ludopoli hangs, disconnects or is slow. What can I do?
Based on our experience, this kind of problem is due to slow internet connection or local pc problems; in these cases our advices are : 1) Close all other applications and check if the problem is solved.
2) Send an error report from the tools menu in the login page of Ludopoli's client.
3) Send an email to info@ludopoli.us describing the problem you have experienced. If the program ends reporting an error code, please send it to us.

20) My account is banned/suspended, why?
An User who has withdrawn from a number of matches which amounts to more than 25% of his/her played matches number total (calculated on a monthly basis if the matches are more than 30) will be suspended (and so will be the subscription) until next month’s 1st day. It's possible to be banned if the ethic, policy or contract rules are violated.

21) Is it possible to play with mac or linux operating system?
At the moment it is possible to play only in windows emulation mode. The istructions to setup emulator on your system can be found at this link

22) The windows “run time error” appear and Ludopoli close. What can I do?
In this case note down the error code, restart the client and send an error report from the tool menu of the login page, writing the error code in the description. We suggest to take a look at the Ludopoli forum and check if other users experience the same problem, in this case follow the staff's instructions, otherwise write a post describing your problem. If you still have problems, write to info@ludopoli.us

To load an avatar, use the command “load avatar” from the tool menu of the login page.
